Paper One:
Due April 30, 2009
At least 6 pages in length.
Compare the Synoptic Gospels. Explain why you believe God inspired these three different accounts of the life and ministry of Our Lord. Show how each contributes to the revelation of Christ. Discuss at least one difficulty between the gospels and explain how to resolve it. In the last third of the paper tell why John's gospel was written, how it contributes to the revelation of Christ and how it is different from the Synoptic Gospels.
Paper Two:
Due May 29, 2009
At least 6 pages in length.
Describe in detail the points of contention between Paul and the Jewish legalists. Explain Paul's theological arguments. Why was this so crucial to the early church? Show how the church is still confronting legalism today.
Paper Three:
Due June 13, 2009
At least 6 pages in length.
Describe the heresies confronting the early church and explain how the Biblical authors combated them. Do whatever background research you need to do in order to show how these same heresies have continued to plague the church over the years.
