Our mission is to glorify God, minister to people and make disciples of all nations.
Jesus gave the church her marching orders before He ascended into
heaven. It's called the Great Commission.
Jesus came and told his disciples, "I have been given complete authority in heaven and on earth. 19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20 Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Matthew 28:18-20 (NLT)
We cannot improve upon this statement of our mission except to add to it what Jesus taught us is the Great Commandment - to love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength and love our neighbor as ourselves. We have attempted to fuse these two wonderful commandments into one in our mission statement. We could reword this "Love God, love people and make disciples." God is glorified when we love and obey Him and produce much fruit in His kingdom as a result. We show our love for our "neighbors" by serving or ministering to them in practical and spiritual ways. We are here on this earth as Christ's representatives who continue His ministry to lost and hurting people. Ultimately, our love for God and people must result in the gospel being carried to the ends of the earth.
In 2009, we have adopted the following points as an attempt to make our mission a reality.
